A Cure for Autism

16 scientists from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and elsewhere say their result from a more than two years study suggest that  a cocktail of fatty acids tailored to each sufferer might reduce the inflammation and ameliorate symptoms.

Scientists have known, since the 1990s, about the involvement of “good” fatty acids in treating inflammatory diseases such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, even asthma and Alzheimer’s. This has spurred on research into the effects of these compounds on wider problems associated with inflammation.

The scientists caution that what they have found is not a miracle cure but they hope to work with 5-7 y year olds to tailor the fatty cocktail to individual cases over the next few years.
