David Bradley

David Bradley is a freelance science writer based in Cambridge. He has been involved in science communication since 1989, having begun his career in this area as a technical editor at the Royal Society of Chemistry. Through the 1990s, he was active in the mainstream popular science press, writing for New Scientist, Science, American Scientist, Popular Science, many other publications, magazines and papers.

In 1995, he established the first popular science news site, Elemental Discoveries, which eventually became Sciencebase.com. During the 2000s he built on his considerable experience in writing about science for a wide range of audiences. He developed news sites for various clients and worked with others on building their established sites. Websites such as ReactiveReports.com, SpectroscopyNOW.com and, of course, the PSIgate/Intute physical sciences network (former home of this Spotlight column). The Spotlight shone in its various forms from 2002-2010. It is the physical sciences news from that period contributed to PSIgate and Intute that are archived here on ScienceSpot.

As of September 2011, David has been adding new articles from the sciences and elsewhere based on papers in the journals of Inderscience Publishers originally written as press releases for that organisation.

David is also an accomplished musician and photographer.
