A lover programmed to be perfect each time and every time? If you think that’s too good to be true, think again. Honda’s ASIMO, currently in India, could soon find its way to the bedroom.
As reported in the Hindustan Times of India, Indian scientists are working to improve the Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility robot (ASIMO) being produced by Honda before it is eventually marketed to “gadget loving” Indians. And what improvements they envision! Dr CRJP Naidu, of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, says the robot can simulate body movements and he boasts of its “sexual prowess.”
He told the Hindustan Times that the robot could be used to help couples with marriage problems. “One of the reasons for marital break-ups today is physical inadequacy. Couples are so stressed out that there’s no time for foreplay, so essential to get the juices flowing. A smart machine can bridge that gap in no time.”
Dr Prasada Raju of Department of Science and Technology, GOI, syas ASINO was initially designed “to perform unusual tasks beyond normal human capability.” But he added: “What we have actually achieved goes far beyond that. Saving young couples from breaking apart could be another un-looked for bonus.”
Although ASIMO may not be appearing in Indian shops just yet, Dr Raju is sure that the versatile machine will someday find a lucrative market in India. According to him: “Our society is passing through a transitional phase in terms of lifestyle consciousness. Indians love experimenting with gadgets and gizmos and it should be no different for ASIMO. While it may take some time before the robot is mass-marketed, the possibility no doubt remains.”
