Synergene, the DNA genetic facility, operates from two facilities: one in Attard and the other in Belgium. Their new GENDIA genetic testing network is being operated in collaboration with the AML Group, a Belgium-based group of laboratories that operates three medical and one veterinary diagnostic lab in the Antwerp region. On a consolidated basis the group employs around 160 individuals, managed by Dr. Patrick Willems. In establishing this network, agreements were concluded with several genetic laboratories around the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

Hopefully, by making these tests more well known, more people will become educated about the options they have in the diagnosis and treatment of disease or genetic anomalies. Right now, many of these tests are very expensive, and insurance does not always cover the cost. When these tests become more mainstream, the expenses should come down.
